SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH EXPEDITION TO LONG BANGA, ULU BARAM

“Where The Beat Goes On”

The main objectives of the Long Banga Scientific Expedition are as;

1. To confirm the existences of the rhinoceros and temadau (Bosjavanicus) reported to roam in these areas

2. To document the variety, range and diversity of wildlife in order to assess the future needs for conservation of this HoB area,

3. Collection, documentation and analysis of scientific data on the flora & fauna

4. To create awareness on the importance of conservation and organize outreach events that will inspire local participation in flora and fauna conservation.

5. Studying the effects of tourism,

6. Increasing the conservation value of the area,

7. Systematic study on the sociology and anthropology of local tribes

With Total of 134 Participants from Brunei Darussalam, Denmark, Australia, Forest Department Sarawak,
Forest Department Sabah, FRIM, PERHILITAN , UNIMAS, UPM Bintulu, UTM, UKM, UMS, USM, UM, UOB

And will be Officiated by: YB Dato Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Bin Tuanku Jaafar
