1. Q.How to apply a licence to sell or deal in edibles birds’ nests.

A.There are documents to be submitted:-

                       -      Application form

                       -      Certified Photostat IC

                       -      Certificate of registration

                       -      Business trading licence

                       -      List of names, address, identity card of persons employed in the sale of edibles birds’ nests

2. Q.How to apply for a licence to export processed edible birds’ nests.

            A.     There are documents to be submitted:-

                         -       Application form

                         -       Photocopy – valid licence to sell or deal in edible birds' nests

3. Q.How to build, erect or maintain any building or structure for swiftlets farming.

            A.     There are documents to be submitted:-

                         -      Application form

                         -      Photostat IC (certified)

                         -      Working paper

                         -      Printout title & copy of land title

                         -      Cadastral / locality plan

                         -      Power of attorney or letter of consent (if not the land owner)*

                         -      Sales of purchase agreement*

                         -      Certificate of registration*

                         -      Business trading licence*

                         -      List of name, address, identity card of persons employed in the collection of edible birds’ nests

4. Q. How to apply renewal for Swiflets Farming Licence?

A. There are documents to be submitted:

¯ Completed Application Form WL (CWF) 4/2002 revised

¯ Completed Application Form WL(EBN) 1/2007

¯ Surrender original licence (if lost, do police report)

¯ Attached collection and sales records

 

 

 

 

5. Q. How to apply CITES certificates?

A. There are documents to be submitted:

¯ Application Form CITES/FDS/1

¯ Application Form WL [Import/Export] /8/2002 Revised

¯ Photocopy of Identification Card

¯ Original Import/Export/Permit/Licenses (Ramin Sawntimber/Wildlife/Plant)

¯ Original copy of Phytosanitary Certificate for Export/Re-Export (if applicable) - to be returned to applicant

¯ Original copy of Certificate of Country of Origin (COO) - to be returned to applicant

                          PLANT

¯ Original copy of license to propagate protected of wild plant for commercial purposes. (rule 3) - to be returned to applicant

¯ Original copy of license to collect, cultivate, or sell a protected plant or part or derivative. (rule 3) - to be returned to applicant

¯ Original copy of license to export any other protected wild plant. (rule 27(1)(b)) - to be returned to applicant

¯ Original copy of license to export any cultivated or artificial propagated wild plant. (rule 27(1)(b)) - to be returned to applicant

                           WILDLIFE

¯ Original copy of Health Certificate - to be returned to applicant

¯ Original copy of Import Permit from the Agriculture Department - to be returned to applicant

¯ Original copy of Permit to Export Totally Protected animal or plant. (rule 26) - to be returned to applicant

¯ Original copy for wild animal farm - to be returned to applicant

- Original copy of commercial wild animal farm - to be returned to applicant

 

6. Q. How to apply research permit and what are document need to be submitted?

- The applicant have to submit three (3) copies of research proposal, academic background and research application form of each researcher and letter of support from University or Research Institute or Reseach Sponsor. 

- The applicant can send the documents to Controller of Wild Life in shape file or hard copy. 

- The research permit is to be returned to the Controller upon expiry of its validity period.

 

7. Q. How long the research permit will be process?

- Normal procedure to process research permit application is 60 working days upon received the complete documents.

- However, if the applicant or/and any of the group members is non-sarawakian, their name and IC no/ Passport no. will be sent to our State Planning Unit for security clearance process. Therefore, research permit will be issued only after our department received the result from SPU  (if the result takes more than 60 working days) 

 

8. Q. How can I get the research application form? Could you please provide me with the correct link to find research application form in website?

- The research application form can be downloaded from our website at http://www.forestry.sarawak.gov.my/

 

9. Q. I would like to ask if I would like to add new sampling site in my permit do I need to resend all the applications and how long the process?

- You do not have to resend all the documents. You can just write an official letter to the Controller of Wildlife, requesting to add new sampling site to your current research permit and you are also need to state your research permit reference number for our reference. This process will take around 1 to 2 weeks.

 

10. Q. I would like to ask if it would possible to add three more field assistant and some researcher in the current permit?

- This could be done. You are only need to write an official letter mentioning your purpose to add some researcher/ field assistants to your permit. However, the period of processing your request is subject to the security clearance process by SPU if the researcher / field assistants are non-sarawakian.

- You are encouraged to send the details of the additional members (non sarawakian) at least 2 months before commencement of research activity. 

 

11. Q. What are the documents required for the application of research permit renewal and how long the process will be take?

The applicants are required to send application letter for renewal of research permit and to submit the progress report of the research to the Controller of Wild Life

 

12. Q. I would like to ask what should I do if I want to bring the sample out of Sarawak?

 You need to fill in the export permit application form which can be downloaded in our website at http://www.forestry.sarawak.gov.my/

Please note the details of sample that are to be exported must be tally with the one stated in the research permit.
