KUCHING, 29 July 2026 - Forest Department Sarawak (FDS) participated in the official launch of the Sarawak Science Centre (SSCiEX) 2026, officiated by the Premier of Sarawak, The Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, today.
As one of the participating exhibitors, FDS showcased its ongoing efforts in forest conservation, biodiversity research and sustainable forest management through three featured exhibitions:
1.Biodiversity of Sarawak's Tropical Rainforests: A Showcase of Herbarium, Fungarium and Insectarium Reference Collections, highlighting the rich diversity of Sarawak's flora, fungi and insects, and their importance in scientific research and conservation.
2.TerraSphere: Integrated Ecosystem Restoration Technologies, featuring innovative technologies and approaches that support ecosystem restoration, environmental monitoring and sustainable forest management.
3.Greening Sarawak, showcasing the State's ongoing tree planting and forest restoration initiatives in support of biodiversity conservation, climate resilience and a greener Sarawak.
The exhibition provides an opportunity for visitors to gain a better understanding of the Department's role in conserving Sarawak's rich forest resources while promoting scientific research, innovation and sustainable forest management.
