Tree up to 21m tall and 30cm diameter.

Habitat: Occasionally in peat swamp forest and kerangas forest from lowland to 950m above sea level.

Distribution: Found only in Sarawak, in Kuching and Sibu Divisions.

Note: One of the bintangor trees found to contain Calanoide A which inhibits the proliferation of HIV virus.
