Nature Reserves

Nature Reserves are similar to National Parks, the only difference being that Nature Reserves are smaller in size; most of them being less than 1,000 ha. By definition, a Nature Reserve is constituted to conserve the flora, fauna and the aesthetic value of the whole area either for education, research or recreation.

To date, there are twelve (13) constituted nature reserves in Sarawak. These are

  • Wind Cave Nature Reserve
  • Sama Jaya Nature Reserve
  • Semenggoh Nature Reserve
  • Bukit Sembiling Nature Reserve
  • Bukit Hitam Nature Reserve
  • Bukit Lima Nature Reserve
  • Fairy Cave Nature Reserve
  • Pulau Tun Ahmad Zaidi Nature Reserve
  • Piasau Nature Reserve
  • Tun Ahmad Zaidi Nature Reserve
  • Pulau Perepat Nature Reserve
  • Mud Valcano Nature Reserve
  • Selabat Mudflats Nature Reserve
