Protected Plants of Sarawak
Native rural residents of traditional lifestyle, who legitimately need to collect the forest produce of these plants for their own use, are granted the right to do so without obtaining a licence. This does not entitle such persons to collect TOTALLY PROTECTED PLANTS or their produce and the Minister may withdraw this right and prosecute anyone who, in his opinion, does not legitimately need to collect such forest produce for subsistence purposes, or abuses the privileges granted by this right.

These are PROTECTED PLANTS. No person may collect, cultivate, cut, trim, remove, burn, poison, in any way injure, sell, offer for sale, import, export, or be in possession of any PROTECTED PLANT or any part thereof except in accordance with a licence issued by the Sarawak Forestry Department.
Penalty (not exceeding): a fine of RM10,000.00 and imprisonment for one year.
