KUCHING, 21 September 2026 – Forest Department Sarawak (FDS) received a courtesy visit from SACOFA to YBhg. Datu Haji Hamden bin Haji Mohammad, Director of Forests Sarawak.
The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss potential collaboration, particularly in conjunction with the upcoming Kayangeran Eco-Forest programme at Kayangeran Forest Reserve, Lawas.
During the engagement, both parties exchanged views and explored potential areas of cooperation in enhancing Kayangeran Eco-Forest as a platform to showcase Sarawak’s rich biodiversity, forest conservation efforts and sustainable forest management initiatives.
The SACOFA delegation was represented by Mr. Azmil Othman Merican, Chief Corporate Officer; Ms. Angeline Tera Lamoh, Head of Corporate Communications; Mr. Casper Goh Chin Tat, Head of Sales & Marketing; Mr. Ashdee Shuffry Zain Khairuddin, Senior Manager, Business Development; and Ms. Shusheel Kaur, Manager, Corporate Communications.
Also present from FDS were Tuan Haji Happysupina bin Sait, Deputy Director of Forests (Forest Conservation and Development); Ms. Zarina binti Haji Shebli, Assistant Director (Restoration and Forest Industry); Ms. Habibah binti Salleh, Research Officer, International Affairs Division; and Mr. Silvester Jemat, Forester, Social Forestry Division.
FDS welcomes opportunities for meaningful collaboration with SACOFA in supporting conservation initiatives and the sustainable development and promotion of Sarawak’s forest resources.
