Rehabilitation Programs

PictureA Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre was established in 1975 in Semengoh Forest Reserve with the initial aim of rehabilitating confiscated orang-utan into the forests. Beside orang-utan, other confiscated totally protected and protected animals were also kept there for holding or eventual release.

Over the years, the Centre has grown, and now it houses a wide range of animals, from hornbill and sea eagle, to porcupine, sun bear and gibbon, as well as free ranging and captive orang-utan.
